Guy Ritchie's newest flick, the sequel to Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Junya, has released it's first trailer, and so far, so good.
For the most part, it looks like similar gags and humor from the first movie, but I don't necessarily think thats a bad thing. I found the first to be entertaining at the very least, so if this one follows that same pattern, I would be completely fine with it.
The best part about this movie to me is the casting. Professor Moriarty is being played by Jared Harris, otherwise known as Lane Price on AMC's MadMen. He's a dope actor and perfect for the part, so hopefully he lives up to expectations. Originally it was rumored that Brad Pitt would be playing the role, but I think Harris was the way to go. Pitt's too GQ to be playing a professor. Ya dig?
Also, the lead female role is being played by Noomi Rapace, a Swedish actress made famous for originating the role of Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She won numerous awards and rave reviews for her portrayal, so I'm sure she will be more than satisfactory. I did read that prior to obtaining the role in Sherlock Holmes 2, Noomi spoke ZERO english, so she hired an english and speech teacher and worked that shit out. That's some serious devotion. Here's hoping this role proves to be her break through to american audiences.
Take a look yo.
