So, Big Love is over for good. The series finale aired the other night, and while there were a few really good parts, I felt it was a little lackluster, compared to the rest of the season. It was nice to see Amanda Seyfried, even if it was just for a few seconds. But the big story here is that Bill died. To me, it felt really rather sudden, and sort of like an easy fix. Like the writers almost said, he fucked himself into such a hole, lets just have him die instead of working all of that out in one last episode.
There were moments that I liked, like the last scene where the three wives hug it out, or when Barb gets the new car and they all go for a drive. It was in mostly silence that I felt the three leading ladies conveyed the strongest performances.
I did just read today that Bill Paxton was very unhappy with how it ended. He was apparently there when they wrote it, and expressed his disappointment. Guess that can happen with actors and their roles.
Anyway, Sayonara Big Love, you had a good run.
